Lightroom is one of the most popular workflow applications on the market. The combination of image organization and a non-destructive editing module is a great alternative for many to a traditional editing environment like Photoshop. Congratulations Silke T.!Silke showed us how to combine the beautiful sunsets of San Diego with creative silhouette shots. In the right modes and angles, this photo creates paralleled lines with the subject and the palm tree and truly captures the beauty of San Diego. Silke took this shot at our Headshot and Portrait Photography Class on November 4th, 2012.
Building a photography community has brought the need to acknowledge photographers who show exceptional work. Therefore, we have the ‘Photographer of the Month’ chosen by the Right Light Photography giving the spotlight to those in our photography community that deserve acknowledgement for their contribution, photography style, and business. Once a month, we share a BIO, interview, and everything that is special about our chosen photographer. I am pleased to introduce November’s Photographer of the Month, Alex Diaz! Photographer of the Month: Alex Diaz Quick Bio: Alex grew up in a small town in northern California called Cloverdale. With a total population of 8,000 people, Alex knew he wanted to go to college somewhere different and larger. So when the opportunity and acceptance came from San Diego State University, he was excited to live in beautiful San Diego and go on to extended education to find his calling in life. His whole life he was surrounded by artistic friends and dreams, while drawing was not an option and painting was out of the question, he knew there was some form of art out there that would fill that yearning he had in his heart. After he graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Kinesiology, he decided to take a step into a different direction that he was always interested in, away from the math and science, and into photography. It all started with his first photography class that happened to have an emphasis on film. “The magic of developing your own film really hit me hard.” While photography was not a big thing in his life or family while he was young, when he got older and grew this passion he knew it would be in his life for the rest of his life. Purchasing his own camera was epic and his camera is his prized possession always at his side now. Interested in Reading more about Alex Diaz and seeing his portfolio?
