Do It Yourself Projects are everywhere on blogs and youtube, I thought why not try out some awesome photography related projects for our Right Light Community. I would try them out and bring them straight to you with tips that helped me, Lauren Lopez, do them. These videos give you a personalized and more hands on look to how easy and quick it is to personalize projects with your very own photos! I was both new to projects for the most part (made a photo album once) and positively new to the making a video so you can imagine this being my second, they will only improve in finesse and comfort. The positives are that you get to see just how easy it is to make these projects I suggest and some tips from where to get the tools to any alterations I made to the original “recipe” to make it easier and better.

There was a big convention in town for physical therapists bringing thousands of people to the event. We were hired for the special VIP awards ceremony for the top contributors and performers for the year. We shot this at the Hilton Bayfront, which in my opinion, does not have the best wall patterns in their meeting rooms. Actually, I think the wall patterns are awful and are an absolute disaster for photos. But having shot here many times, I am aware and was able to talk with the coordinator to make the best of the situation. We had this awards ceremony in the morning and then shot their Gala event at night were the past presidents of the organization were honored. They had a roast of everyone which was quite entertaining, especially the photos they would put up on the big screen for the amusement everyone. We got to setup a photobooth as well which was a huge hit with everyone. We were printing 5x7 prints for everyone and putting them in nice folders that everyone got to take home for a keepsakes. It was a great event that everyone really enjoyed. Photos from the Gala at the SkyboxCongratulations Susie Vetter!
Susie took macro to a whole other level capturing this budding flower nestled in the surrounding leaves. The photo is whimsical and looks like it could easily be in a magazine or even painted! Susie took this photo in the Landscape and Macro Photography class. This class is being held in on Saturday, February 23rd at 2:30pm! Building a photography community has brought the need to acknowledge photographers who show exceptional work. Therefore, we have the ‘Photographer of the Month’ chosen by the Right Light Photography giving the spotlight to those in our photography community that deserve acknowledgement for their contribution, photography style, and business. Once a month, we share a BIO, interview, and everything that is special about our chosen photographer. I am pleased to introduce February’s Photographer of the Month, Leslie Miel! Aisha caught the last flickering light left in the sky and in the perfect mode captured the light of the pier and reflection of the beach. This photo is dark and bright at the same time, but definitely makes you look closer! Aisha took this photo in the Night & Low Light Photography class in Oceanside. This class is being held in our Mission Valley location on Sunday, February 17th at 3:30pm! Now this was a Galla of Gallas. This event was to inaugurate the new president of the San Diego Association of Realtors and say kind parting words with the past president. It was a wonderful event was really well organized and was beautiful put together. In order to photograph every part of the event we had a team of 5 photographers... Yes I said FIVE Photographers! It was decent sized team but it was great because we need each person there to ensure we did not miss a single moment. We were at the private reception with all the higher ups and the open reception, along with a photobooth doing onsite printing. The members of the SDAR absolutely loved the photobooth. Before the alcohol was served photos were tamed and formal even, but once the dinner was over things got really fun and people found our stash of props and began having a great time. It was so much fun to see everyone laughing and coming back from more. We printed of 100's of prints to send home the guests. Below are some of the photos from the event and then the photobooth photos. And now for the wild and crazy photobooth pics with our onsite printing. We event took a quick team photo towards the end of the night. Congratulations Alice Russolo! Alice captured the action of the skateboarder in the air with sharpness. She caught a perfect moment and composed it just right with the background greenery, the shadow and his trick! Alice took this photo in the Controlling Motion & Action Photography class that is being held again Saturday, February 16th at 10am!
We had the pleasure of photographing at the Omni Hotel again. The Omni is such a beautiful hotel with gorgeous natural light coming into the Foyer areas and is actually connected to Petco Park which is really cool. We were hired to shoot the awards ceremony in the morning and then did a photobooth for them on the Hornblower at night. Below are some the photos we captured from the event. If you need onsite printing for your next event be sure to give us a call. Now onto the fun photos taken later at night on the Hornblower Cruise. There were about 140 people aboard all having a great time with a Magician, tattoo artist and even a cigar roller...and of course the consistent flow of alcohol. This group definitely knew how to have a good time...as you can see from the photobooth photos we printed out for them. We were printing 4x6's prints for them left and right, they were definitely the highlight of the event. We are beyond thrilled by the turn out and success that our most recent Gallery Exhibition brought! As over 50 people cycled into the doors of Right Light Studios, the air filled with chatter and laughs. Old friends coming to support their graduating PIT professional photographers, those who have supported us through taking photography classes for years, and the new faces that were being introduced the the Right Light Community for the first time. It was so gratifying feeling the community in the room, all appreciating the display of the PIT graduates, getting excited for the raffle, eating, mingling and even sneaking off to our photobooth in the other room. READ FULL BLOG HERE Congratulations Ben! Ben caught this amazingly striking photo of the model with awesome composition setting her off center. The most impressive part? This was take outdoors at sunset and with lighting, he was able to capture a clear and sharp photo with no distracting shadows! Ben took this at the On-location Lighting: Taking the Studio Outdoors class on October 28, 2012. Make sure to check out this class being offered this February 10th, 2013.
